The only original, newly written track, produced written, and arranged by Marlow Rosado. The album, contains eleven songs which includes "Niña y Señora", recorded by Michelangelo Barcasnegras also known as "Meñique", Salsa singer from Panama. Meñique sang with Tito in the 70s, and is currently 87 years old. "The idea was to make an album with artists who recorded with my father and are still alive. These artists were both instrumentalists or vocalists who at some point in their career were part of my fathers legacy. In addition, we took the opportunity to make testimonial videos of their experiences with who became a mentor to them " said his son. Additional titles in this production include "El Rey del Timbal", featuring the world renowned percussionist/vocalist Sheila Escovedo. She is known by her artistic name Sheila E, American singer of Latin origin, drummer and percussionist, whose notable collaborators include Prince, Billy Cobham, Lionel Richie, George Duque, Ringo Starr, Gloria Estefan, Jennifer López, Beyoncé, Hans Zimmer and Kanye West. |

Pete Escovedo, American jazz percussionist, of Mexican origin, also participates. Both give great tribute to the most emblematic song by Tito Puente "El Rey del Timbal" in a remix version unique to this album. Yolanda Duke, Ronnie Puente and Jose Alberto "El Canario", also play very important roles in making this album #1 on Apple Music on its very first day out. "Déjame Soñar" which was originally recorded by Tito Puente on a record called "Número 100", is one of the favorites on this record as it features on of Salsa's classic voices , the great Tony Vega, who was the original singer. And of course we could not do a Tito Puente Tribute Album and leave out the emblematic "Oye Como Va," and for this track, the vocal responsibility was handed to Michael Stuart Carrión, Salsa singer and American actor of Puerto Rican descent. "Pa’ los Rumberos," is interpreted by Domingo Quiñones. And Picadillo features the virtuoso Puerto Rican trumpet player Humberto Ramírez who showcases an outstanding trumpet solo, while in "Hong Kong Mambo", Tito Puente Jr keeps it all in the family performing this track with his brother Ronnie Puente on the marimbas. |
